CG&P Partner James Connors was recently invited to speak to the nursing staff of a Long Island Hospital. He was assisted by CG&P Associate Melissa Danowski. The program entitled, The Importance of Nursing Documentation from a Medical Malpractice Perspective, focused on documentation techniques tailored to enable the staff and hospital to defend, or even avoid, malpractice actions. The program addressed critical documentation errors, electronic medical records, and emerging trends in documentary evidence in the medical field including social media, text/email communications, camera phones and patient portals. The audience and the speakers engaged in an informative discussion of real world challenges facing an ever evolving medical landscape.
