Gary Petropoulos is a 1983 graduate of Trinity College and received his Juris Doctorate Degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1988. He received an LLM Degree from the University of London in 1990. For the past twenty years he has concentrated his practice in the areas of insurance law and professional liability defense.
He has extensive experience handling complex insurance matters as defense, coverage and supervisory counsel on a national basis, concentrating on multiple lines of insurance coverage on both primary and excess levels. Additionally, he counsels both corporate clients and professional groups with respect to insurance disputes at arbitration and mediation, and has lectured extensively for professional organizations including the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and Nassau Suffolk Claims Council. He provides risk management advice and seminars for third party administrators, insurance agents and brokers, attorneys and claims professionals.
Mr. Petropoulos is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and the Nassau Suffolk Claims Council.
